GI on TV (WIAT 42)!
Posted By Administrator on May 25, 2009
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Institute had it’s first appearance on television! Sunday afternoon during PlayOn Con, I was in the room where we were just finishing a roundtable discussion and teaching a lady to play “Hourglass” (which she thought was pretty cool), when Dan brought around a TV 42 cameraman who was checking out the Con.
So, after a few minutes of everyone talking about the different activities that had been going on, I jumped at an opportunity to try for the “local guy makes good” and told Sam (from TV42) about the institute, and some other folks then encouraged him by saying how cool my “Traveling Crate” was. Sam asked to see it and filmed me putting it “into action”. As I started talking about the GI, he pulled out a microphone and started “interviewing a little”. And quick as you can say “bob’s your uncle”, I’m part of a PlayOn Con news clip at 10:00 this same day.
Possibly one of the best parts, is on their website, where the written story appears, there is a “related links” section and Sam included the GI website link. we’ll see over the next few days if that help drive some traffic, should at least help with web search rankings – not there is a lot of other folks using the word “Gamealogical”!
I’ll report on the rest of the Con later this week.
